Writing inspiration is great - when you find it. Sometimes writing inspo is hard to find and you reach writer's block. So, usually I have a few things planned for when I reach this point.
Reading
Reading is a great way to get inspo. It is the only way in this post that is not on an electronic. Reading can give you so many good ideas. New vocabulary can stick in your mind and sometimes can change the way you speak. On holiday, I was reading the Lord Of The Rings and I started speaking as if I was from that time and place.
Also, reading can give you new plot ideas. Sometimes it is ok to magpie a line or two from your favourite book or to have a similar plot. It can improve your writing and can give you a style of writing to follow.
Writing Prompts
You can find writing prompts on many different social platforms. On Instagram, I follow many accounts that give writing prompts and similar things. They can just give you a conflict or sub-plot but they could give you a whole story line. It depends how far you want to take the prompt.
Picture Prompts
Picture prompts are great for writing. They are open for interpretation and you can get so many ideas from them. There are hundreds of possibilities you can get from a photo. The ideas from the photo can turn into a big train of thought that leads into a story. They can be very inspirational.
Instagram Hashtags and Pintrest Boards
These are super easy to find and are super inspirational. There can be pictures of so many different things. I find flat-lays of people working really motivational and (a bit like picture prompts) fictional photos. Different people get inspired by different things just see what works for you.
I hope you enjoyed all these tips! Go follow me on all my socials and tag me if you write anything!
